The
Town of South Bruce Peninsula is a municipality in the
County of Bruce, on the southern portion of the Bruce Peninsula.
It was formed in January 1999 with the amalgamation of the former
Townships of Albemarle and Amabel (Sauble Beach), the Village of
Hepworth and the Town of Wiarton.
The Town of South Bruce Peninsula is
the gateway to a natural wonderland and home to
7,500 full-time residents located in the several amalgamated urban
centres and rural areas.
The south end of the Municipality starts at Alvanley
on Highway 21 with the north end stopping at the Town Line just
before the Pike Bay side road. Highway 6 runs from one end of the
Bruce Peninsula to the other. Lake Huron runs its way up the entire
west coast of the Peninsula and Georgian Bay up the east with a
total of 500 miles of beautiful shoreline.
